TCHAN Research bridges AI-powered healthcare usability and human-centered design through evidence-based methodologies. Our peer-reviewed studies, published in Springer HCI, IEEE Healthcom, and Arts & Humanities journals, establish actionable frameworks for medical interface design:

  • AI mHealth Usability: Developed the first GUI checklist for AI medical apps (Springer HCI 2024), addressing rural user needs in China (IEEE Healthcom 2023).

  • Clinical Interface Standards: Created evaluation tools for glucose monitor apps (Springer 2023), aligning with FDA/ISO usability guidelines.

  • Cross-Cultural Design: Pioneered visual semiotics for Chinese users (CNKI 2019), later extended to IoT medical devices.

Current work explores emotional AI in diagnostic interfaces (Scopus-submitted 2024) and Taiji-inspired clinical UI metaphors. These innovations directly inform TCHAN’s industry projects, ensuring AI enhances—not complicates—patient-clinician interactions.
